Bench Seat measurements

Question for you guys reguarding factory bench seats..

I got lowback seats in my 69, not sure what they’re from they were installed in the truck when I bought it, but I’d like to swap to a bench so I can take my lady and my son at the same time. My issue is that the previous owner also installed a floor shifter so I’m looking for a measurement of the back of the cab to the very front of the bench seat to see if I’ll be able to fit one without moving the shifter.

I do not have the gas tank in the cab it’s been relocated to the rear.

Any input would be great

Re: Bench Seat measurements

I can get a measurement after work today, but I still have the tank behind the seat. Also, do you want the measurement with the seat all the way back?

Re: Bench Seat measurements

Ok I will take a measurement when I get home and post it here. Do you want the measurement from the back wall of the cab to the front of the bottom cushion?

Re: Bench Seat measurements

Yes, the back of the cab behinds gas tank to wherever the front of the actual seat would end

Re: Bench Seat measurements

Keep in mind the seats usually hit the panel above tank and below rear window before it hits the tank.

Re: Bench Seat measurements

I measured on the right side of the seat so the tank is not in the way. I got 29” from the back of the cab to the front edge of the bottom seat cushion. The seat is non-folding with it all the way back. You’re right the back of the seat at the top does hit the cab before it hits the tank.

Re: Bench Seat measurements

I have a Muncie M21 and a bench seat in mine. Not sure what trans you’re running but I could take some measurements of the shifter location in relation to the seat if that would help. The Muncie shifter location sits pretty far back but it clears the bench without issues.

Re: Bench Seat measurements

Measurement from the dash to the seat (I still have the tank in the cab so it’s hard to get those numbers, but you can see where the shifter lands)
