Rear end size is not dictated by an RPO code, but by the model.
So an S10 back then would be either a 7.625 or 8.5/8.6" ring gear 10 bolt (page 45 of the pickup document). Ratio will be a "G" code, where GQ1 = base ratio (the ratio itself will not specified on the SPID) If an optional ratio was chosen it will appear on the SPID: GU4 = 3.08 GU6 = 3.42 GT4 = 3.73 G80 = Locking/Limited Slip (non-open diff) for example.
