Rear end size is not dictated by an RPO code, but by the model.

So an S10 back then would be either a 7.625 or 8.5/8.6" ring gear 10 bolt (page 45 of the pickup document).

I think you'll have to post up a photo of the cover so we can tell.

Ratio will be a "G" code, where

GQ1 = base ratio (the ratio itself will not specified on the SPID)

If an optional ratio was chosen it will appear on the SPID:
GU4 = 3.08
GU6 = 3.42
GT4 = 3.73
G80 = Locking/Limited Slip (non-open diff)

for example.
