Re: 66 c10 lower control arm bushings

I thought the same thing when I took mine apart. I think yours looks better than mine. I was able to replace both upper and lower bushings and able to torque each to 100 ft pounds. The manual shows different torque specks for "new" or "replacement" bushings. I read a couple threads on here about the difference and I wasn't sure of the exact conclusion. I went with the 100 ft pounds. I think the other is somewhere in the range of 180. I marked each shaft with tape, found the center and marked the tape. As others said, I tried to tighten each side equally and continue to check as I went. I think I got close. I might be off by a 1/16th on one of my lower control arms and hope that won't be a problem.
One thing I did do is a tried each cap into each control arm and shaft to see if there was any fit difference. There were actually a couple that threaded into the shaft/control arm better in certain places. I think that might have been a little bit of over kill, but I figured it couldn't hurt. So, I marked which ones fit where better and then greased and assembled.
