Re: Starbucks closing its doors...
Pretty sure that I've never hung out at a business establishment without spending (or earning) some money. There's a lot of entitlement afoot, afaiac, and not just at Starbucks. Doesn't matter to me, really, their coffee is terrible.

Oh well, I don't drink coffee, and I have no use for Starbucks. But I do like a Buc-ee's.

It's Armageddon! Tick Tock is being banned and now this! The streets will be full of wandering listless hipsters with nothing to do!

The New Zombie Apocalypse! I go to a Barnes & Noble sometimes when I'm going over to a wood store. There's always someone sprawled in a chair here and there, reading a book. I don't have the nerve to sit in a store and read a book that I haven't paid for.

Re: Starbucks closing its doors...
Was working in a new development area, roads were still being paved and new buildings being built, road baracades and construction works present. First store to open was a brand new Starcucks.
Guys were setting up to pump concrete on a new bank foundation next to the newly opened starcucks. These Idiot starcucks "customers" ran down all the road baracades and were yelling at and flipping off all the workers in the desperate rush to beat each other to the new starcucks. One idiot ran into the temp chain-link fencing , another crashed into a brand new fire hydrant, both damaging their vehicles. Lucky no construction workers were killed. Next morning same thing happened. Ive never been to a starcucks but my observation of starcuck's customer's behavior and concluded that they are a bunch of frickin arsehole idiots

Re: Starbucks closing its doors...
I dont like any kind of coffee so I cant say whether they suck or not. One thing I do though is if my wife and I are out and about and I really need to pee Ill hit a fast food place and use the restroom, but I always buy something, small fry, soda or whatever. My wife thinks Im a dork for doing this lol.

Re: Starbucks closing its doors...

Back during my work-from-home times (2008 through 2018 or so) I used to enjoy spending a day or two per week setup in any number of local Starbucks locations. Usually I'd spend $$ for a coffee and maybe a danish while hanging out there for the better part of an entire afternoon. I too am of the opinion that if I'm using an establishments services (comfort, restroom, HVAC, etc) I'm going to pay for it by being a real customer. I've even mentioned this on a few occasions to the Starbucks counter person and each time they told me not to worry and that it was totally OK to come in and hang out without making a purchase! Nope...not how I roll. What I started to notice around and after 2018 was that loads and loads of folk would be taking up all the seating and all the electrical outlets for their devices but hardly any of them had a drink or a snack on the table in front of them. No, they were just hanging out. Several times I was unable to find a place to sit down and plug in and so a few years ago I basically stopped going there as a result. This move was necessary as I'm pretty sure they could see what was happening in the data: sales, water cost, HVAC cost, electricity cost, and I'm sure a few metrics I can't even think of. Maybe they were even doing some kind of analysis of the video evidence on what their patrons were doing while in store (did they purchase anything?). This may not bring me back to them but I'll visit a store soon to see if I notice any difference. -Kevin

Re: Starbucks closing its doors...
Have never been in a Starbucks never liked their coffee and sure as hell wouldn’t spend the money on one if I did . McDonald’s coffee in my opinion is better and it was a buck for a large . I haven’t had coffee in a long while
But I can see why they did this . There’s a local coffee shop that’s near the college and they instituted a customer only seating policy a couple of years ago . They are there to make money not provide a free charge and Wi-Fi

Re: Starbucks closing its doors...
I think the Starbucks move was also to keep the homeless out and shooting up in the bath rooms.
