time to see if new vender is worth a darn

i was at a carshow/swap meet a few weeks ago and ran into a booth selling 67-72 parts.. guy had everything, thought it was cool, dont have to wait (i hate mail order). so i got several things including a floor mat. you tell me.. does it fit?

i called them and told them about it. i also said ill go take photos and send them to him. so balls in their court.

Geez, wow! You got the bedliner instead of a floor mat!
Are you srpposed to trim it to fit? Seems like if they had it together it would be already trimmed to fit.
BTW, I think you got the title wrong on the last picture. Are you sure it's supposed to be "t"ucked up?
Break out the utility knife and go to town! See if they'll pay you for your time making it right. Good luck!

Yep, you're definitely doing something wrong. You need to take the carpet out, move the truck out of the way, and pull the correct truck into your work area

Let us know how they do in handling the problem.

I think Kenneth is closer to the solution than he thinks. It looks like you were sold one for a high hump cab and you need the low hump. Lets hope he is good on his word.

Swap meet

If you are referring to the swap meet/car show in Boerne, TX a few week ago, I was there too. If so, there was only one vender their for our trucks. I do not want to offend anyone by saying this, but I would not deal with them at all. I asked the guy and few questions about our trucks, he said he did not own any and doesn't work on them just knows the market is good. I asked him who some of his vendors were and he did not know, he replied that they are all over the world, but if they do not have a GM restoration sticker on them, he said mostly overseas. Just to let you know I was asking the vendor name because I was looking at their rocker panels and cab corners. This is merely my own opinion, but I would did not trust them at all.

thanks for listening to my two cents

well i agree with ya. they are not worth a dam. the guy really didnt beleive me when i first told him that the mat doesnt fit, he said they are made just for these trucks.. so i emailed him the photos..

he just called me this morning and told me that they make them a bit big because if they made them exact they wouldnt fit some of the trucks that had repairs done to the floor..........????wtf.

i then told him that i asked when i bought it if i had to trim it and they said no. he told me sometimes it gets really busy and its hard to remeber to tell people that you need to trim. lol i told him we were the only one at the booth and talked with the guy for a 1/2 hr. he said id have to take it up with his dad (the one i bought it from)

so, looks like another worthless vender. ill see what his dad says. but im not holding my breath.

we need to set up a black balled list on this board. a place to check before buyin stuff. i usualy only buy from the venders on the board. but i hate mail order. waitin for crap i have paid for drives me insaine. looks like ill have to put up with waiting to get good parts

soo thumbs down on out back trucks parts located north west of houston.

That's a shame. I have dealt with Outback several times (since they arel local, and sometimes it's nice to just go pick up the parts), but it's just been lenses, bumper bolts, etc.. The dad does the swapmeets, and the son runs the shop. I did get screwed on an auto tranny x-member from them, but that's just because I needed it, and they charged me too much. Also, I priced a list of items from their website, but when I got to the shop to buy the stuff, it was all higher. WTF? GMC Paul gets most of my money now.

Thumbs down

Hate to say it but it sound like this guy is in it for the $$$ ONLY, no passion for our trucks, he should at least KNOW somthing about them if he's going to sell parts don't ya think.

wow! just got off the phone with the son again. i called to tell him that i went out and tried to get the thing to fit, moving left and right ect. it wont fit. the hump always has a wrinkle in it.

he tells me to send it back to him. they will put it in one of their trucks to see if it fits (insinuating that im a lier or stupid). i asked him well, why dont i send it back and you give me a refund or exchange. he said they have to verrify that its a defect. lol..

thats like going into wallmart to return something and having them say well we will have to send it to our vender to verrifie its bad.

i can understand that for them to get credit for it has to be bad and they need to make sure.. but thats between them and their supplyer. if it turns out its not bad... re-sell the dam thing! insead of pissin off your coustomer.

im now waiting for the dad to call me back. lets see if he has more honor and sence. again, im not holding my breath.

does that thing look like it would fit even if you trimmed it?

he is wanting me to take a photo of my truck w/o the mat in it.. he seams to think that chevy has an oddball cab made for the th400 that is a bit bigger or something... think he is sniffin glue..the mat is to darn big not small...

Did you buy it with a credit card? If so, I would be making a complaint on that charge immediately. You are getting the definite run around!

Dave, well, did they make it right or do you own a large rubber thing? If this is the same people I talked to sveral years ago, I ask him why he pulled his Chevy parts around with a ford truck and he replied "Well, sonnyboy, Chevy never made a decent truck". I have not bothered them since! Thanks, Lyman.
