Hot Rod exhaust

I am putting a 9.2 maybe 9.3-1, 2003 Aluminum 4.6 2v engine, stock cams, slightly ported heads, and a standard PI intake. It will be operated by the Holley terminator X max set up. I am going to use a LS drive by wire throttle body, and point it straight up. Then add a air cleaner to give it more of a carbuerator look. Think poor man's version of a 427 sohc.

Right now i have long tube headers fliped side to side, and upside down. To approximate lakes headers. So i am looking for ideas on how to make it less loud.

Has any tried the exhaust cone inserts.

Supertrapp muffler with a bunch of disks.

Or cutting a glass pack and inserting it into the into the short exhaust pipe.

On a side note. Why does the 4.6 2V PI ust not respond to hop ups like the 4.8 or 5.3? A 400hp 4.8 is almost as easy as bolt ons and a stiff cam. The 4.6 2V need heavily ported heads, aftermarket.heads, and stiffer cams.
