Re: Patina love

Just a thought on your dash panel. On my 68 I used 10-24 socket head bolts and epoxied them into the panel. Then I body worked the panel so you couldn't see the bolt holes any more. I used nuts from the back side of the dash to hold the panel in place.
Pics.

Re: Patina love

Got my heater delete plates in. Hoping to have my son weld them in this weekend. Trying to figure out how i wanna do 3 knob control on dash. Vintage air makes this black set. Was hoping i could do something like the original but they say this and a plastic version are all that will work. Anyone got ideas?

Re: Patina love

Son built me a drop for my steering column. It takes bout 2” lower to clear the vision raceworks dash. So i had a tilt column built and shortened by 70shortfleet. Big thanks to Les for getting me a column done up and going out of his way to shave all the indicator off the top for me. Indicator will be in the dash screen digitally when done. I will have to mod the tilt/turn and shift lever since the steering wheel is 13” and then get them powdercoated. Just need to finish up all the under dash wiring. And get this dash painted black

Re: Patina love

Ended up purchasing the short column shift lever for a tilt column. Way better with 13” wheel. Just cant get the knob on 100% yet and dont wanna damage it lol. Playing with the 12.3 pro dash more and more and getting it figured out so much better. Ordered a gmc pauls black dash pad this last week and awaiting its arrival. Next on my list is black visors the new door panels with arm rests. Hopefully i can get all of the cab repaired and sealed up for next year and totally repainted interior🤞🏽

Re: Patina love

Nice touches on this one and great original paint. I too have a 68, 503 green, short bed. Working on a 6.0 LS swap now. Question on the Volt efans, I assume you were able to stretch the legs of them since you had yours up and running during the summer. I have a handheld frequency generator and can power my fans on, they move some air but wanted to get your feedback on summertime driving. Hoping they performed as they should. I feel the PWM fans are the way to go.

With just a cheap LMC Taiwan 3 row radiator i have never seen over 205 degrees and the fans havent been over 50%. The fans initially come on at 195 degrees. I had a guy do remote tuning for me on my holley platform and havent had 1 hiccup. Plus i cant even hear them running unless hood is open and im close. So quiet

Awesome, glad to hear they have been working well for you. Since they are brushless, I expect a long life for them as well. Guess you can really put them to the test when you get your turbo setup rolling down the road.

I know this is an old post, but I have the overload springs on my 69 shortbed with a factory (chrome) bumper.
