You have to believe that the fires in California are having a impact.

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

.

I'd have to say your right, if a bit conservative...those blazers have cooled significantly!

Today, I'm interested in knowing what Gas Monkey's 3 trucks bring.

lot 1080.1 and 1080.3 are Skidmark and a Ford F-150(race) build. They are supposed to be selling their Sema build for this year as well...a race built OBS called the Black Truck but I can't find it in the docket...it ~could~ be the unpictured/unlisted 1080.2 but...we'll see.

Current lot on the block right now is 1062.1 so we are getting close!

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

Well...here they are. I'd say overall the guy made money on these two. If you consider all the press the GMC has gotten over the last few years at all its various shows/events, I'd say he made out like a bandit! Didn't see the other truck though. Maybe it's on Saturday's dockett.

The GMC:

The Ford:

I've also been keeping track of how the examples of our trucks here are doing as they roll across the block!

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

I’m on my flight home from Barrett Jackson. There were a lot of subpar blazers and trucks there. Pretty disappointing. But people still paid up for them.

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

So my question is what do folks that paid big money for "replica" cars like the Back to the Future and Ghost Busters cars do with them?

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

.

Judging from my comfortable seat at home, ima say the 67-72s that rolled across the block today (so far up till around 4pm CT) were mostly high end builds. Yesterday's (Friday) batch of 67-72s were not of the same caliber...with exceptions of course.

Not sure if OP is going to continue posting the hammer price on these trucks. If anybody's interested I can make another thread and post what I've collected so far.

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

I haven't seen a 67-72 with a set of stock wheels on it yet!
But they all sure do look nice - I especially ike the feathers blazer with slots.
I gotta get to one of these or a Mecum auction someday (without my checkbook).
Thanks for posting the pics!

What's the story on the unit that sold for $245,000.00?

It does look mighty fancy. I know it only takes 2 bidders that want something...

X3 on Thanks for posting!

Indeed, the early days at these big auctions have a few and sometimes more morsels that regular folk can afford!

That truck was built by Gas Monkey Garage I believe for the 2019 SEMA show. It has since been used as marketing material for GMG attending various high profile events and shows. They put it on the block at BJ Scottsdale this year with no reserve. Mr. Rawlings there on stage looked mighty worried as the bidding slowed around the 130k mark. Fortunately for him that didn't last! Did that happen naturally? I don't know really as these auction environments are very fast paced and bidders come and go. However, I suspect no tomfoolery here.

Re: Barrett Jackson Scottsdale

I watched a little bit of the last Mecum because there were a couple of cars I wanted to see go through. I found it easier to record it then fast forward and stop at whatever I found interesting. I did the same yesterday with Barrett. Does Barrett not have the reserve clause available? Or am I all wet and just didnt notice it?

A few years back I know BJ did allow reserve on specific listings...those over 150k estimated sale price and with some other rules. However I believe tradition says don't list with reserve. It's likely bidders would simply not bid or under bid those with reserve pricing and so the theory is no reserve will sell higher and more often than a listing with one.
