Hello all

I recently purchased a 1967 GMC Dump Truck. It has a gas 351 V6 with a 4 speed transmission and all around power drum brakes. It needs the typical work to get it going around again but hopefully it won't be too hard, I do have a bunch of questions as this is the first GMC I've ever dealt with. I do have a few questions for now. First, one being what series would this be, I'm guessing a C30? My other question is how common are brake parts for these series as well as interchangeable, I figure most parts I can get off Rock Auto, but is there anything special to look for or remember when buying? My last question is I noticed there is a metal inline fuel filter on the frame, would that be original, if so are those still available? Also, I have a shop manual for 67 Chevy trucks, is the information in it transferable to GMC for the most part?

If the fuel filter is between the tank and the fuel pump it is possibly original equipment. I'd think that just about everything but the engine would be the same as a 1T Chevy. I forget when it started, do you have an SPID on the inside the glove box door? If so, the filter would be listed on it, if OE.

Yes, it is between the tank and fuel pump. No the SPID is gone, might of been torn off by time and from the glove box being used pretty well.

The series will depend on the size of the truck. CZ 30 is an option as someone could have just taken off the bed and added a dump bed. But if it's a dually rear , then more than likely c 40 or 50
351? I'd love to have that and do a rebuild to put my 67 GMC back to original

What are the first 6 numbers of the VIN?

There's a chance that it is not the same transmission as it's Chevy counterpart. Being as it's a 351 there's a chance that it could be an NP435 rather than a SM420. Please post pictures of the truck, the engine and interior. Also PLEASE keep that 351, they are getting hard to find running and driving now.

Good info; I'm not that familiar with GMC. They always did something a little different.
