suburban bench seat back

What have you all done to solve the issue of the shortback on all the upholstery? that is the back of the seat cover does not go all the way down. yes i realize that you can have a local shop make you one with a back. but, what other options have you all done?

I have found some thick black plastic sheeting at a box store, and it's the front runner at this point.

Re: suburban bench seat back

That should be covered all the way down. That is probably a replaced seat out of a pickup. My suburban was a bare bones interior truck originally. No 2nd or 3rd seats no flooring or head liner past front doors. But still had the material on the back of the seats.

Re: suburban bench seat back

I'd find some matching or contrasting fabric or upholstery and hog ring it in place.

Once again we're missing the Grumpster and his valuable knowledge. RIP good sir!

Re: suburban bench seat back

I pulled the black one from my sub, many years ago to install buckets. Front lower is no good but i believe upper is good. For sure upper back is near perfect. been sitting on shelf for almost 30 years. Not a high end pattern but if you are interested. i could dig it out. Also has a stiff backing that fits behind it.

Re: suburban bench seat back

These backs are sewn in, I believe SMS has the original pattern material, but not the cut out pattern, same issue with my utility bucket seat covers
