Tilt steering wheel swap

I am advised that the power steering pump and gearbox from a 1984 GMC will "bolt on" into my 1970 C-10. Will the tilt steering wheel from the '84 also fit the '70 C-10?
Thanks

somebody can jump in here and correct me if I"m wrong but I'm pretty sure the tilt column won't work, just for the simple fact that the ignition switch is located on the column. Can't tell you anything about the gearbox.

Gear box will work, however it has metric fittings so you'll need adapters/custom hoses.
Column can be made to work, but it is by no means a nut and bolt procedure, the column is larger around, so you need to trim the dash where it goes under the int panel, you'll have to do some wiring for the ignition switch and the wipers.

Welcome aboard, Philip, from SW Oklahoma! Hope you find this place as helpful as I have.

Here's a thread that discusses the pump swap, including a neat trick from Tx_Firefighter to avoid custom hoses, in case you come up agains the 0-ring seal or metric problem.

Power Steering Pump

If you've got access to a digital camera, we'd like to see some pics of your truck.

Thanks for the tips! I think I'm going to give this a try. Nothing to loose except a little time and effort.

I installed a 83 Tilt column into my 70 Blazer.

Requires a new steering sector shaft, dash wiring harness and a bit of fab work to get the column to fit the dash. Nothing a welder and plasma cutter couldn't fix...
