1973-74 bucket seat cover confusion

OK, so I've done every search I can, and I still can't seem to come up with the right answer or find a picture of an unrestored truck with original covers. All the below questions pertain to 73-74 bucket seats.

1) Are the bucket seat covers different for the Blazer vs Pickup? I'd assume they're the same, but I know at some point they had different covers, so don't want to make that mistake.

2) Is there supposed to be a medallion 2/3 the way up on the center back cover? Is this just a Cheyenne thing vs. Custom? I've seen some covers with the medallion on short back seats, but I don't know if they did that in 75, or what.

3) Are the PUI covers correct or are the USA Inc. covers correct (nice new webpage by the way. at least better than the old one)? Or are neither correct?

You can just show me a pic of the correct covers if you know you're correct and just skip answering above.

Thanks for the help. Getting prepared to restore some buckets, so want to get it right for my 74 C10.

This is a set of original 73-74 truck bucket seat. Yes the covers are the same from truck to blazer. The medallions was on the high grade trucks.
The seat covers from USA1 Industries would be correct, but they don’t come with the medallions. You would need to install them.

Re: 1973-74 bucket seat cover confusion

73-77 low backs came in two different styles even though the frames are same. And yes, the K5 seats are identical to the pickup seats with exception to the brackets.

The first style was 73-74 style with more rounded tops, very similar to 69-72 sport buckets.

The second style came in 75-77 with more square tops.

The square medallions came on the later style with the square tops, the earlier style didn’t.

You can find covers for both styles, you just have to make sure the foam will work for whatever style you get.

I have multiple sets so if you need more pics or have any more questions lets me know

Re: 1973-74 bucket seat cover confusion

Hey, thanks a ton! That totally helps. I had no idea there were two different styles in 73-74 vs. 75-77. I'm going to have to look to see what I have. I think I might have the square. I'm putting them in a Custom 10, so don't think I'd have medallions.

(sorry for the delay. for some reason I'm not getting email notifications to responses)

Well, it looks like I might actually have the 73-74 style. Those covers look to be as old as originals, but in the AZ sun, there's a chance they're 3 years old. So I won't go by them to date these.

Yes those appear to be the earlier 73-74 style. I personally like both styles, but as long as they match the year of the truck they’re going in. But also with the style you have, definitely don’t use medallions, it won’t look right.
