Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
I wondered if I could get some help ID'ing these wheels. They're 16x5 riveted wheels with 6x5.5 bc, 0 offset, with 6" overall width. I was told they were from a '71 K10.
The stamped numbers/letters common to all the wheels are K-1-1 to the left of the valve stem and CX to the right. All other numbers in the area of the valve stem vary from wheel to wheel. I thought K-1-1 might be the date code but the limited info I found is confusing on that. Any steelie experts out there? |

Try making the pics smaller. They probably were rejected because of their size.

And as Ol Blue K20 says image size is the most likely problem. Here's a thread with a couple links on how to load photos. Good luck. https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/....php?p=9294316 And Welcome Aboard!

In addition to the stuff HO455 posted. . When it's just a few pictures, I get them off my phone to my laptop via email. The email app on the phone (ios) asks what size I'd like to send (original, large, medium or small) and I select large or medium. The originals are around 4MB in size each and the emailed versions are usually 400k ish each. When doing things in bulk, I use wired connection to the laptop to get the images then software to resize for posting. Hth -Kevin

Tried posting the pics again and got a msg to contact the administrator. We’ll see what he says.

Try uploading one at a time. When I see that error, it is normally the picture size thing.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
Those look like wheels for the 88-98 k1500 trucks

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
I didn't realize 16" rims were offered in the later K-models. I looked them up. Yeah, they're kinda similar but the 88-98 K1500 wheels were 16x6.5 slotted, didn't have the nubs for the poverty caps, and weren't riveted.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
The K rims had a larger center hole. I'd guess these are 1970 and older

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
The center bore is 3.5". I believe that's the same as the early 70's 15x8 4x4 6 on 5.5 rallys. Again, I was told they're '71 K10, but I'm hoping someone familiar with the wheel stampings might be able to help ID them.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
The 71 GM catalog of standard and options doesn't show a 6.5 wide rim. That may just be a difference in how different folks measure the same wheel.
https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...olet-Truck.pdf I did find 16x6.5 wheels listed as an option in 1977. https://www.gm.com/content/dam/compa...olet-Truck.pdf SSTim is the only member who might know about the wheel codes. Unfortunately I don't believe he is active on the board anymore. I hope this helps some.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
Great info. My rims are 16x5 (5" wide). According to the catalog the 15x6 is standard equipment on the c/k10. The 16x5 was minimum required equipment for the heavy duty option (higher GVW ratings). I'd guess '71 is about right. I don't know how the stampings translate, but at least I know a little more about the wheels. Many thanks.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
Your welcome.
Back in the day dealerships had books that decoded the letter codes to year and application. You would need to find someone who has one of those books to be sure. You might try posting on the general forum to see if someone has one of the books or try a Corvette or Chevelle forum where there are lots of folks into correct restorations of them. They may have the book you need. Or if your lucky enough to have an old dealership in your area that hasn't moved in the last 60 years you might get lucky and get the information there if they're willing to help.

Re: Are these 16x5 riveted wheels for a K10 ?
From what I can find in the parts catalogs the CX stamping is a 15x8 per the 73-78 truck parts catalog.
The stamped code for 16 x 5 from 1966 through '69 was BA, part number 3974200
