9.5 12 bolt vs 9.5 14 bolt

I was reading supposedly you can use the 12 bolt gears in the 14 bolt.

My 9.5 14 bolt has 4.11 gears, and I would like 3.08 or 3.23 gears. Which would match my build concept better then 3.42.

Anyone ever try this swap?

The later model 12b ----9.76 only has 3 ratios 3.23, 3.42, and 3.73 and will not interchange to my knowledge
