1986 K20 Steering box to 1969 C30 frame

Hi Everyone,

Will a power steering box from a 1986 4WD K20 fit a 69 C30? I.E. will the pitman arm fit the splines of the box?

Thanks much for any help provided!!

Thanks Jerry for responding!

If I had looked closer before I posted this question I would have seen that the later steering box shaft doesn't have the same style tapered, splined shaft as the earlier box.

The pitman arm isn't held on with an end nut.

Instead it uses a through bolt which clamps the arm to the shaft. My guess is that the shaft has a curved notch to accept the bolt and keep it from being able to slide off.

The direction that the pitman moves is completely different between the two as well. C30 will move side to side and the K20 is forward and back.
