Bug Shield- Deflector?

My dad had this bug shield on the front of his 71. It broke- any idea where I might find another one? Google search is no help. Dad drilled some holes in the hood to bolt it on- I'd take it off altogether but the holes are ugly...

I don't think those have been manufactured for many years. However, you could make one. It's flat and just has a bend in the middle - gentle heat will soften it enough to bend. I would use acrylic or polycarbonate (Lexan), which is a little tougher.

Re: Bug Shield- Deflector?

.

If you want it gone...why not just remove it and run the "bolts" down into their holes. Maybe even paint the heads to match the truck. Personally, if I had no sentimental value associated, this is what I would do and I'd probably use chrome headed bolts!
