Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

LOL, I just re-read your post 1...

If that 5 lug rear is as greasy as it sounds, it's likely a 71 or 72 rear end.

Not knowing your Chevy pickup knowledge...The 71/72 rears are wider than your 68 (69?) is..

There's a boat load of other 5 lug swap facts. Let us know if you need any more...

I have 67 and 68 C-10's I plan to use all factory parts to convert mine to disc, 5 lug...

Truth be told i don't have much "classic" chevy truck knowledge I'm just taking it day by day and learning as i go. The whole radiator support thing threw me off big time but were gonna get that right soon as all the parts get here (assuming i got everything I'm going to need haha) But yea as I previously mentioned it came with a buncha miss matched 5 lug stuff and a random rear end. I don't know what its out of, what gears are in it anything like that and i haven't bothered looking much into it just yet. Really focused on just getting this thing to a sweet little cruiser and knocking out the little odds and ends/clean up work so when the nicer weather gets here were good to go. (northeast winters suck)

Im really considering just buying the 6 lug front disk kit to save myself some hassle for the time being and not go down the rabbit hole of trying to piece the rest of what I have together then having to buy new wheels on top of it. Down the road most likely but right now Im not sure I want to swing it.

Curious if i can use my the brake master i have now though if i was to just install the 6 lug disk fronts for the this year.

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

I will make a list, put it here, for you. Maybe others will chime in. THere's one guy here, that knows, a lot (not me).

In the area of converting to 6 lug disc. You need to make sure that what ever wheel you have will work with the disc calipers. many drum brake wheels will not work...

Posting a picture of the inside of the wheel here, will help.

Disc brakes require a specific master cylinder. I've seen some folks use a drum M/Cyl, but I would not for safety's sake!!!

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Pretty stoked on this.. found a guy that had a TMI buddy console he didn’t end up using so I was able to get it from him for a decent price. I’ve been trying to find a “easy” solution on how to fit three people on those warm summer cruise nights or ice cream runs with my young son and lady however the floor shifter was mounted in a terrible location and without changing up the whole layout a bench seat just will not fit unfortunately. The leather doesn’t exactly match but with alittle conditioner I believe I can get the new console to match these old buckets alittle better.

I have a guy locally that is going to work up some custom brackets and after alittle finessing I think it’ll work out perfectly for what I’m looking for.

Loads and loads of parts have finally come in… some warmer weather in the Northeast sure would hit the spot right about now!

Zicc1835...It's at Snyders salvage yard in Pueblo Colorado. He just drug it in this week. It's a barn find that been sitting since 1979. He's having an open house this Sunday from 11 to 3. It's a private yard. He posts on Facebook , it's a private group by invite. He's selling it for $5800.00 with title. If you're on Facebook I could send you an invite. He has a list of transports that he recommends.

Re: 1969 C10 Project “Nosejob”

Ripped the interior out to put some sound deadening down, the LS and long tube headers make for a very noisey ride so this was a must. Outside of the rockers and cab corners no real rot which I’m very happy about!
