Detailing forum here - I cannot do windows
I am just curious there enough interest in a detailing forum here or if the idea has been suggested.
I suck at cleaning windows no matter how hard I try or what products. The best I can do is to use a waffle weave cloth and lots of cleaner. Using a glass stripper has helped me some too. The wand type things with the cloth on the end do not seem to work for me. On another related note, the magic eraser pads work great on trim and dirty vinyl pieces and even leather seats. My wife used them to clean her 300M seatbelts, dash and door panels and they worked amazing.

Re: Detailing forum here - I cannot do windows
As Richard mentioned there is a Detailing section.
As far as widows go. To deep clean them start with Vinegar and water. Then use Windex or Sprayway foaming glass cleaner. This is what works for me. A Bit of Info Below: Vinegar is one of the most effective cleaning solutions for a car window. It works better than soap and will leave your car windows streak free. Just ensure you have the right vinegar to water ratio and use Black and white print newspaper while cleaning to achieve the best results. Vinegar isn’t necessarily a better cleaner than soap, as it differs from soap. While vinegar breaks through dirt and kills bacteria, it won’t help on filthy surfaces. And you could use a generic glass cleaner like Windex, but you treat the windows of your car different than you treat other windows in your life for a reason. What is the Correct Vinegar to Water Ratio? Obviously, you can’t just pour vinegar on your car and call it a day; instead, you need to take the time to make a vinegar solution for proper application. The proper ratio of vinegar to water when making a cleaning solution is one to one. Therefore, for every one cup of vinegar, you will add one cup of water. Mix both in a spray bottle and apply to your car windows as needed. Do note that you should never mix anything else into this solution, and vinegar is highly reactive and could react negatively to other cleaning products or soaps.

Like
I have found Sprayaway at Costco for much cheaper. All of the spray bottle type cleaners are crap these days. I found the detailing forum finally - thanks
