Re: Trailer wiring harness help?
I bought a trailer wire junction box like this to put on my flatbed to get rid of the most horrific basket of snakes including a bunch of flat yellow extension cord like contractors use on the wiring at the back of the truck.
On my truck it just goes where it fit on the frame rail between the the crossmember that the factory plug is in and the back crossmember. The wires from the front go in and to the proper posts, the lights on the truck hook to them and the trailer plug wires connect up. That cleans up a real mess that had too many hands in it over the years and makes changing or trouble shooting pretty simple, The only issue on a truck with stock taillights might be the length of the wire and if you are able to cut the wires to put terminals on them and hook them to the pins in the box without stretching the wires.
