Replacement doors

I am going to order some new doors but before I do any recommendations on who to get them from or do they all get their doors from the same source. Thanks for recommendations.

Re: Replacement doors

I bought doors and other sheet metal from H&H Classic Chevy parts and got genuine Dynacorn on most big parts. They may all come from the same overseas supplier, but we may never know. Being where you are in the PNW, you may want to check with Bill’s Truck Shop for a good pair of originals. I made my new doors work, but there are some differences that can impact your window channels, and fit. Don’t expect they can bolt up and be a perfect fit, whether repop or OEM.

Re: Replacement doors

I'd go over to Olympia to Wes at classic heartbeat by Olympia. https://www.classicheartbeat.com/
Toll Free 888-338-2502 / Fax 360-570-1860

Then I would compare his prices with the lower price that Classic parts and others ask plus shipping.

wehepp@comcast.net

335 93 rd. Ave. S.W.
Olympia, Wash. 98512

Wes is real picky about what he sells and he won't sell us anything he won't put on his own trucks or trucks he builds. If he has the doors in stock you will be able to look at them before buying and not have to pay shipping. His prices might be a bit higher than some but you don't have to pay to ship stuff across the county either. If he didn't have it in stock he should be able to bring it on a stock order saving some money for shipping.

I've bought pieces for my 71 from him in the past and probably will get a few pieces for my 48 in the next few months

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Thanks for great information. I will give Wes a call and go to his shop when all this snow stops. Just a little over an hour away. Worth the road trip. Thanks Mr.48chev. Northwest C10's is having a C10 show in my town. I'm hoping to have my truck there. Unpainted of course but work in progress. Maybe see you there. https://www.facebook.com/events/6291..._history%22%3A[]%7D

Re: Replacement doors

I might have my 48 going in a very unfinished condition by then. An inch of snow at my place sure isn't helping progress though. If I get the 71 back together that would be a nice run for it over Chinook pass and back.

Since Chinook is closed right now it is a 166 mile trip over Snoqualmie to there.

Re: Replacement doors

Seth is good to deal with. I hope that 1100 is for a pair though

I looked up his address from FB but that looks like a home and not a shop.

Re: Replacement doors

I don't know about whether he works out of his house or has a shop space, but suspect that he works out of his house.

I have purchased a couple somewhat pricey things from him and I have been very satisfied but, as you suggest, his stuff isn't cheap, in either sense of the word.

In his case, I believe "You get what you pay for." applies.

Re: Replacement doors

I purchased a set of doors from Seth at Quality Classic Parts for my 58.
Seth has been selling parts for years for or trucks, He owned Golden State P/U Parts
back in the day. Honest Guy and the Doors fit great! they were palletized and boxed very well to keep from damage. Seth has done allot of research into providing some of the Best components for our Classic trucks. I am not a pay'd endorser for him just have known the guy for along time is all and you can Trust him!

Allen,

I believe there is a vendor feedback area on here. Please post this there as well. I'm sure other people would be happy to hear of a good vendor. Here's the link https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...play.php?f=238
