Mexican Blazer

I came across this 1971 Chevy Blazer from Mexico, allegedly. I have seen Mexican trucks before and had never seen a blazer. According to the post the top does not come off. Its a six cylinder 4 speed, 250 sm465(?). It looks like its in decent shape but does state that it needs some work. It's listed for MX$12,000, or $601.33 at the current exchange, so probably $12,000 U.S. Dollars. It's a very interesting Blazer and I did not know if anyone else had information on the Mexican Blazers of this time period, if they existed.

To me it seems like this truck has a Dodge Ramcharger rear glass retorfitted to a 69-72 Blazer lines. Although they would have had to had a Suburban roof to make the roof line. Although for some reason, to me the back tail light area seems to look odd and leads me to believe this is a Mexican Blazer. Along with the Spanish paper work, this might be the real deal. Please comment if you have more experience.

One thing that I neglected to understand in my first post is the rear wheel well opening. From the limited amount of research that I have done, the rear wheel well seems to be different form the U.S. spec trucks to the Mexican spec trucks. (Not U.S. made vs. Mexican made but U.S. spec vs. Mexican spec). The "Mexican" Blazer that I originally posted has rear wheel wells similar to the "Mexican" trucks that I originally posted. To me, what I have always identified as one of the major design changes has been the 60-66 style tailgate chains (shown in the last of my uploaded photos on this post) vs. the 67-72 (or 69-72 Blazer) tailgate. I have already messaged the seller about a Mexican Blazer tailgate and what that might look like.

If I am violating any guidelines I did not mean to. This is not my truck, I am not selling it, I am not interested in buying it, nor will I get a commission if someone on this site buys it. I posted this link so that others could see the original ad and ask the seller more specific trucks. Moderators please contact me if there are any problems.

I do still think that this is an interesting topic. The American Blazers and Mexican Blazers are a lot more different than I had thought and I wanted to try to document some of those differences.

The documentation seems to state it was a pickup. The roof and side windows look really similar to a 1981-up Dodge Ramcharger. It's really interesting whatever it is.

And why would anyone want a Blazer that doesn't have a removable top?

A common sense rule would be to charge businesses a fee to advertise and sell, but not members trying to sell 1 or 2 items per year.

I consider it an honor, but that's just me. I'll bet you pay more for a lot less.

If I had to pay $25 for every site I frequent, I’d be broke.
This is not a site dealing with business related items. It’s a site that people go to for information or parts for their hobby project and to find that one part they have been searching for. Charging people for them to sell one or two items is a disservice to the hobby. This is one of very few sites that does this and it’s wrong whether you agree or not.

The site charges for a few reasons. First and foremost scammers. We have very few incidents of people paying the fees to sell and not ship etc. Second most important, the site is not free to run. For years it was free to sell etc. as it grew it cost more to run. The site is free to get knowledge, share builds etc. always has been. Asking us to pay for the ability for you to sell a few parts is ridiculous. We have bills as well.

You don't have to leave, most people who do, still visit as guest because there's no other site that has as much freely given information, that is MOSTLY correct, and usually drama free.

If you want to sell parts there's plenty of free sites.

Funky looking Blazer. I don’t perceive the OP as a for sale as much as a buyer beware. The rear windows resemble those from a Bronco II.

That got very unfriendly very quickly. The OP wasn't selling anything; he was just posting something unusual and asking if it might be legitimate.

I don't feel I'm morally superior when I pay $25 per year for something, and I would never feel comfortable telling someone else to get lost because they haven't paid.

Well, I didn't mean to start that. No, I am not the one selling the Blazer. It is for sale in Arizona and I have never been there. Does anyone have any other info on the Blazer subject? I messaged the seller and he didn't seem to know much.

As Bob B. stated the paper work calls it "Pick-Up" and Chassis. I do not know Spanish fluently so I do not know what categories these are under. Mexican documentation could be different too. I want to believe that this is a real Mexican Blazer, but I am still skeptical.
