1977 Chevy Van

I cannot find a specific forum covering the 1971-1995 G-Series full-size vans (or any van-related forum here); if there is a specific forum for this, please move this post there.

Anyway, my question: is it true that the 1977 Chevy Van got the changes for the 1978 models during the mid-year (after January 1977), such as the new front eggcrate-style grille used on the '77 C/K-series pickups? I know at the start of the year, it had the new tailgate and fender badges but still had the original '71-style front grille with the gold ochre bowtie inlay that was first used in '73.

Re: 1977 Chevy Van

This document has a publish date of February 1977 and it still shows the metal grille with ochre bowtie.

The '78 document has a December 1977 date and it shows the plastic grille.

Doing a quick scan it doesn't say when or if it was changed prior to the '78 model year.
