Re: 1968 GMC k2500 Stepper
Little update, Need to fix the leak in the tranny, bolt down the bed and try to get some bed wood cut for it. Also trying to find a new DS vent window it ended up breaking a unreplaceable part.

Re: 1968 GMC k2500 Stepper
Pulled the vent windows to rebuild them a couple months ago, frames are powder coated and am assembling them currently but having trouble getting the new seals into the vent window frames, if anyone has any advice I’d appreciate it.
Now that the weather is nice I’ll be working it on again, put a new sending unit it in the old one had cracks in the brass float figure out the wire has a incorrect end on it and now the fuel gauge works! Next is sealing the transmission as that is leaking now, possibly the front diff also.

Re: 1968 GMC k2500 Stepper
It’s a really tough chore getting the seals in. I used simple green (or something) for lubrication. I wonder if the powder coating is just thick enough to make it even harder to squeeze in?

Re: 1968 GMC k2500 Stepper
The part the seal is going into isn't powder coated luckily. My problem is I cant seem to get the corner in, the rest of it is easy.

Re: 1968 GMC k2500 Stepper
I made this a while back. See post #6. Not sure if it will help.
