Just a few thoughts.....
Not all late model 90's trucks (90-98 C1500's) had electric fans. My 3/4 ton '99 OBS has a clutch fan so the motor can be cooled w/either option. If swapping the entire drive train, all the wiring for the motor + trans (if electronic) is needed if you want the most out of the updated set-up. The transmission is likely a 700r4 vs an electronic 4l60e. S10's got the electronic versions first around '96 but I don't think the C1500's got them until '98.
