stock radiator, What hoses?

im getting ready to do my swap, has anyone found hoses that will work for this? stock radiator and LS.

I make a wire pattern for the upper and lower hose. Then go down to the local Oreillys and look thru the back room hose supply.

Where are your routing your steam lines to? I've seen an adapter with a steam port that fits in the upper rad hose. One of those would make the upper hose two pieces, maybe two different hoses cut up to fit better.

Ive seen where people drill and tap the water pump and run it there. Might do that

I've done both. My 98 Wrangler LS6 swap has the steam port line plumbed to the water pump. The down side to that if the WP fails you have to drill a new one. I have 15 years on the swap and zero issues.
My 73 Camaro with a LS3 swap I spliced the upper radiator hose and the splice has a NPT port that I plumbed the steam port. Has worked well.

I don't know what year truck you have, be it a 60-66, 67-72, 73-87 Square Body, or other year so a "stock radiator" isn't much information.

Again, depending on which water pump you decide to go with makes a lot of difference too.

If you stay with the stock truck style water pump and the stock drivers side upper radiator some guys have been able to use the stock style LS upper and lower radiator hoses.

I'd tap into the upper hose like was mentioned for the steam hose connection.

On all my LS swaps I have used 2002 Camaro front accessories.
If you have a bit more coin a generic LS radiator can make the steam hose routing much cleaner along with the radiator hose routing much easier.

there is also a port in my radiator that looks to be internally tapped where i think a heater hose would go? i have seen where people run the steam port to that. im going to try hoses off a GMT 800 truck. ill be using the truck alternator bracket and water pump.

Speedway Motors has a LS Swap radiator "kit" that they sell. Radiator, dual fans, steam port adapter for the upper hose, shroud, and all. Only extra thing I had to buy was the upper and lower hoses.

Although, if you are keeping your existing radiator, I believe you could just buy the adapter with the steam port and add it inline to your existing setup.

It works for some people but I'd be scared to rely on steam port tapped to water pump. If you get an expanding steam bubble at top of head, it will push the coolant out of the engine down to level of water pump.

GM went to the trouble to plumb the steam ports to radiator above level of head. I do the same with tapped couple in upper rad hose.
