CPP rear brake kit questions

Hey everyone I’ve installed the rear big brake kit on my 71 but the pre bent brake lines are shorter than the stocks and the are a different size fitting to the tee fitting on the rubber brake hose that comes off the frame. Anyone run into this

Also I see the instructions say the parking brake is a big part of the design for rear brakes which implies I need them however my truck I guess they were removed along time ago. Do I really need them?

Thank you

Re: CPP rear brake kit questions

The rear ends are different widths depending on year of truck. If you purchased a generic kit then might fit some years and not others. Brake line can be purchased and bent/flared from the local shops still. I used some Nicopp line (nickel/copper) which was easy to bend by hand, and flare when I broke a line.

Fwiw I've never purchased a "pre bent" line that didn't stick need some substantial tweaking. Can your lines be manipulated and just find a tee that fits?

Re: CPP rear brake kit questions

That makes sense. I’ll probably just make my own lines with smaller fittings to caliper hoses and the bigger ones to the tee. I appreciate that.

Anyone know about the parking brakes?

Re: CPP rear brake kit questions

In some states like MN you are required to have an e- brake of some sort.
Does the CPP have a e-brake on it? The kind that clamps the disc?
