Need front coil spring info for 72 C10

I recently bought a 1972 C10 and my front springs have been cut to lower the truck. However the previous owner did a terrible butcher job on them and they are actually cut 2 different heights.
So I was hoping that someone could tell me what the stock height is for a front coil spring for a 1972 C10.

Thanks!

You can buy brand new coils from your local NAPA store

I understand I can do that but I would like to know how much mine have been cut so I can buy a pair that will be similar in ride height then.

Are you looking for coil height or frame to ground?
Napa website gives all the specs for the springs. Look up your truck. It will give spring rate,height and diameter of coil and outside diameter of the whole spring. For stock springs 1/2 3/4 1ton. Found it very usefull for getting the springs right for my c/30.

This listing is for a 72 1/2t heavy duty replacement spring
This also appears to have 7 coils/rings

ID = 3.68

Re: Need front coil spring info for 72 C10

The free height of the spring is not necessarily related to the compressed height. Coil diameter, HD or standard springs, and spring rate will all play a factor. The factory alignment has a narrow window; i couldn't align mine without longer A arm bolts or physically longer A arms with 2" drop speings. Brake hoses also needed to be longer for mine. Check your glove box to see if it had HD springs. My 69 short bed had HD springs on all 4 corners.

If the PO didn't cut them right, be careful what else may have been done. Mine had cut coils and I just got the height dialed in after 3 different sets of coils. CPP was too soft for me. I used Moog brand and the ride feels higher quality for sure.

13-1/2 inches, with 8 loop/coils. this is from my C10 with low miles and likely very little if any compression/sag over the decades
