Re: Lss3

I installed the Mar-K hidden latches. Drilling all the holes and cutting the slots was tricky. I made a wooded jig to position the 5/8” hole. I didn’t want the hole saw to wander. A couple of wedges and a C clamp held the jig in place.

Re: Lss3

More work on the circuit breaker panel. I made a cover out of Delrin to protect the copper bus bar. I didn’t want a tool to be able to short the battery to ground.

Re: Lss3

You are absolutely right that I should do an update, but I haven't accomplished much lately. My goal is to get the electrical panel installed and the wiring hooked back up so I can start it again. Wish me luck.

Re: Lss3

For three Christmases in a row, I have gotten parts for the bed. First were new bed sides. The next year was the tailgate. This year I got wheel tubs from DAN CARPENTER'S SPECIALTIES. My wheels just barely fit without the tubs. They might rub going around corners. There would be no room for larger wheels without the addition of the tubs. The time to add tubs is before paint.

Re: Lss3

Added notches to the tailgate for the MarK stainless steel links. Before cutting, I added plug welds every 2 inches along the cut line since many of the original spot weld get removed by the notches.

Re: Lss3

The next project is the cooling system. The fan just arrived from Delta PAG.

I should be putting together the shroud in the next couple of days.

Sub'd to follow along for the remainder of the build. Just read through the thread, love all the small details you've done. Good job!

Re: Lss3

Here is a picture of the fan and parts to make a shroud. There are a lot of reasons to use the Delta PAG. It is the biggest fan that will fit, 18 inches. It is brushless so there be less wear and heat. The power circuits mount externally, so the motor is smaller and blocks less air. It is variable speed which will allow it to run at an optimum speed, making it quieter. The controller makes setting and changing it easy.
