Fender seal
My doors are pretty tight around the seals. A lot of resistance when I put a dollar bill in the closed door and pull out. It’s tight all around the door. Vents windows are brand new a tight also. The one seal I don’t have in the truck is the fender seal, long skinny one that mounts vertical (photo attached). With the doors open, I can see light through the door jamb, through the fender where it mounts and out the bottom of the engine compartment. Does these seals have any effect on wind noise in the cabs if installed or not? TIA

Re: Fender seal
That was an optional seal. Base trim didn't get them, but Luxury trim YE9 - Silverado/Sierra Classic received those automatically. There will be no impact on wind noise with the addition to those.

Re: Fender seal
I can not for the life of me figure out the wind. Does seals are new and tightly sealed so I’m lost. I even tried adding an additional universal style seal and it did nothing.

Re: Fender seal
Is this your first 73-87, compared to even the 88-98 they have more wind noise.
Did you check the seal the whole perimeter around the door? Is the door vent flapper at the bottom in place? What trim level is the truck?

Re: Fender seal
You could try taping off portions of the exterior to see the effect.
Ie - tape around the vent window to door. Tape around the belt seal. Tape over the A pillar to door gap. Etc. Tape everything and start removing pieces to see when it lights up. K

Re: Fender seal
Yes technically but I’ve had it for 15 years. After rebuilding the truck, swapped the cab and replaced all the seals. I guess it just doesn’t seal as best as it should.

Re: Fender seal
See Keiths suggestions above on tracking it down.

Re: Fender seal
I've always wondered if the rain gutters made alot of wind noise. the one piece vent windows helped for sure.
