I have no rational idea. https://www.oldgmctrucks.com/index.html is the only online source dedicated to early GMC trucks but They don't get into post 55.1 much.

I'm not even sure anyone in our group has a 55 second series GMC of any kind.

I'm finding cast blast to look like original cast iron for the manual but am not sure that is correct for a hydromatic. https://oldchevytrucks.com/pt138.html

That might take calling Jim Carter and asking.

The folks on here will tell you that I am as far from a restorer as you can get. On the other hand I firmly believe that if you are "restoring" any vehicle you restore it to exactly as it left the factory outside of period correct accessories that were known to be used when the vehicle was new.
