Re: '57 2Dr Sedan
Thanks for the kind remarks, CG. Must admit I feel like a 19 old kid again when behind the wheel and that four speed stick is in my hand, LOL. And that my friend was a LONG TIME AGO!
![]() And 34,000 PLUS views. Again, quite appreciative and again amazed so many views from so many members. Makes all the time, money, beer and skinned knuckles thru the years worth the trip. Thanks again to all.

Re: '57 2Dr Sedan
Wow again...... closing in on 40,000 views ! Again, so appreciative and amazed. And also again, another mod is coming into my mind. AIR CONDITIONING ! This summer has been just way too much upper 90s and the dreaded triple digits with added humidity for cruising fun. Guess I'm living up to the phrase....."they're never really done" Looking at both Vintage Air and Old Air companies. Decisions, decisions. Again, neither one is cheap but then....Cheap isn't good and Good isn't cheap still comes into play.

Re: '57 2Dr Sedan
Again, WOW, closing in on 50,000 views. That is just so wild and I am so filled with appreciation to all those who have taken the time to look thru and share a comment or two. It's been quite the journey thru the years since I purchased this '57 50 years ago this year. Raced on the 1/4 mile for couple years, sat in the garage for many years as the Mrs. and I raised three great boys. Almost sold it several times thru the years with no time or no money to spare to spend on a "toy"! Retired after 36 years with the Boeing Aircraft Co. and decided it was time to go back to the '57. At 76 years young it just feels so good to still have it and enjoying the pleasure in cruising with the Mrs.
Again, THANK YOU to all have taken the time to look thru the thread. It is truly much appreciated.

Re: '57 2Dr Sedan
Such an awesome build! My youngest boy (15) is desperate for a 55-57 Chevy for his first car. He will also eventually inherit his grandpa's 71 C10 as my next oldest boy (17) will receive my 65 C10, the next oldest (18) will get my Jeep, and our eldest, our daughter, will get her mom's 392 Challenger to keep up the "pretty girl in a fast car" look her mom started! LOL
Looking for a Tri-5 for my son I have been amazed at how relatively affordable - especially for 4 door examples - these cars can be for a build-able hulk. I see quite a few examples in the $2-$4k range. I am thinking we will start him out with either a 283 or a newer model 4.3 V6 and then add more power as he ages. Thanks for the inspiration provided in your sharing your build! I grew up in Kansas (Northeast Kansas in a little town north of Topeka called Valley Falls) and it is awesome to see some Kansas iron brought back to life!

Re: '57 2Dr Sedan
scottofksu, nice to hear of the younger folk who have a love of the Tri-fives. A youngin' i know who works at a local mechanic's shop just recently bought a '57 Bel Air 4 door sedan, fairly complete minus the engine and trans. Was a 235 with a Powerglide trans, now a open blank slate for what ever he decides. Gave $1,200 for it, has all the trim, glass and interior seats altho does need a restore. They're out there, tell your son to be patient and buy the very best body and frame he can find. Body work is NOT cheap, LOL!
