I "landscaped" my parkway with gravel to meet the water company's requirement for a 20% reduction in water use, in conjunction with making the front yard planters xeriscaped. Some bimbo down the street was walking through the gravel- not on the sidewalk, and scattering it around. I put in flagstone with lots of jagged rocks between the flagstone "walkways" between the curb and sidewalk. Took care of the bimbo problem. Then, someone stole one of the rocks. I might not have noticed, if they had rearranged what was there to cover the empty space. I didn't bother to look at my security camera footage to see who did it, I just let it be known around the neighborhood that I knew that rock was gone. It mysteriously reappeared, back in place, a couple days later.
