What are you doing for fan shroud?

What are you guys doing for fan shroud? I have the mechanical fan and fan clutch in a 1964 C10 LWB Step side, with a 1969 350 and 700r4 trans. Looking for options on fan shroud.

Re: What are you doing for fan shroud?

Original was a bakelite type of material and are repopped. You will need the side panels to attach it.

For the ones from Classis and LMC shown above you have to use the side panels correct? Like Dpowers said. My question is are the side panels the same from the inline 6 rad i had or are they different for a V8?

Re: What are you doing for fan shroud?

The repop original style shrouds ones fit well. I switched to an HHR electric fan/shroud, they are the same size as a 63-66 V8 radiator. Runs quieter than the stock mechanical fan and I picked up a little mpg and it has a bit more pep at mid/higher rpm.

Re: What are you doing for fan shroud?

Thanks everyone, looks like I will try to find a fan shroud as mentions above. Don't have it in the books for the electric fan setup yet.

Re: What are you doing for fan shroud?

Just happen to see your question . I used a shroud from an 1958 IMPALA . Multiblade fan . Aluminum rad . and the past ten years of driving with a 180 thermostat never gets hot .

Mr. Astronaut, could yous share if you used an SS or "regular" HHR radiator fan assembly/shroud?

Thanks!

Just a regular HHR, non SS. I think the SS version has a weird cut out in the bottom of the shroud, the non-SS has a regular rectangle shaped shroud.

Here's the link where I got the idea from-

Thank you! I got one ordered and a control kit! Now I just need to determine if I should rebuild my old '66 C30 V8 radiator or get a new one for the 350...
