1960 upper steering column bracket/u bolt question

While installing my new steering column in my C10 , I cannot find what I believe is a u-bolt-shaped half moon bracket for the upper steering column support.

My new pup has a habit of grabbing nuts and bolts and wrenches when I'm under the truck working on anything and taking off with them. Usually I find them under his bed but I can't find this one.

And maybe he didn't take it. I've tried looking online and the only thing I find is like a $60 advertised upgraded better looking one. What else can I use if I can't find a reasonable replacement one? Would a 2-in half moon pipe bracket work?

I tried one that said it was no drop however it does drop it quite a bit I want it up tight against the dash so it's not crushing my legs.

Thank you..
