Original doors? Original fenders? How to tell?

These pictures are of a 1970 K10 short bed fleet side. Trying to confirm the sheetmetal is original. Here’s pictures of the drivers door.

Front bottom corner.
Bottom of door.
Rear bottom corner.
The number “50” about 1/2 way up the rear window frame.

What do 07' and 71' mean?
7 feet and 71 feet, which is what the ' bits mean. You can look into contractions, which say when you remove characters you use an apostrophe.

Aftermarket parts have looser bends BTW.

Re: Original doors? Original fenders? How to tell?

I’m no expert, but they look original to me, and not aftermarket. But I see ,unless you get a one owner that really knows. It’s up in the air over the yrs. Both my 72 Cheyenne swb black k10 and hugger orange 402 c20 custom are.

Re: Original doors? Original fenders? How to tell?

May or may not be correct but I've heard tell that the outer front edge of factory door is turned in slightly where it meets the fender,
and the aftermarket ones are straight.
I can confirm that the aftermarket doors I bought were indeed straight on the front edge.

If I remember right, that little bend had something to do with keeping them from rubbing there.

do you mean just like you pointing out the others' flaws in their comment, instead of giving an opinion about the topic? ....hum

@SoCoC10 - Those do look OEM to me. Mine has the same or similar

I do not believe any of the aftermarket doors have the triangle embossed into those corners. So I believe those are GM doors but not sure if they are correct for the year.

Some members are more impressive than others, which is why there’s an ignore list
….of course you may never see this, because I may be on your ignore list ;-)

Re: Original doors? Original fenders? How to tell?

.

I remember a past thread about how to identify original fenders where the consensus seemed to be if your front fenders have 3 little triangles in the nose curve on the inside where the grill bolts to the fender, it's OEM.

Found this thread but don't think it's the one I was remembering but it too mentions this:

https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=450407

And this thread seems to confirm it:

https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...d.php?t=595514

FYI, my '67 has one OEM and one aftermarket based on this triangle thing.

Hth,

-Kevin

Yes the triangles are sure sign they are OEM but after 68 they must have gotten a different vendor or better die machines . You won’t see any triangles on 69 and up trucks also most aftermarket doors won’t have that pie shaped raised area in the corner.

Re: Original doors? Original fenders? How to tell?

Newer tooling GOOD reproduction doors do have the "PIE" in the front corner.....MOST older tooling do NOT (TriPlus)

My $ is they are OEM based on the info/pics provided.
