Window Regulator OEM or Aftermarket

Changing out the original regulator/motor, 1983 K10. Using ACDelco motor along with aftermarket regulator. Also did seal kit from Precision, very nice and easy, fits pretty nice, not NOS, but works good. With change out, window moves up and down nice. However, it moves out of the track when lowered. Tried all the adjustment, no help. Thinking the aftermarket regulator is bad, not keeping window in track/channel.
Question, fix could be a good condition OEM regulator and new AC Delco motor, or a better quality aftermarket regulator, possibly AC Delco regulator. If quality of aftermarket regulators is an issue.

Re: Window Regulator OEM or Aftermarket

A little more update on history of this project. First ordered the replacement window regulators from Amazon, and returned them for quality issues. The one currently installed, is from Rock Auto. Plan is to do a more detailed review of the OEM vs aftermarket regulators, general review and check for any offset differences during raising and lowering. Did not compare before installation, assumed.

NOTE: will try putting both in vice to check, for any variance.

Re: Window Regulator OEM or Aftermarket

Ordered all my window parts from LMC and all worked as advertised, would never order auto parts from Amazon.

Re: Window Regulator OEM or Aftermarket

Using a power window regulator out of a 1989 suburban fixed the window exiting the track when lowered. Review comparison of the aftermarket regulator to the GM original one on one showed a difference in the regulator arm angle. The GM arm bend angle is greater. Also, GM materials and construction is much superior to this one aftermarket product.

Note: tested both the 1989 GM used window motor vs the new AC Delco version in the 1989 GM regulator. Conclusion, new AC Delco power window motor lowered and raised window significantly faster (this is a unique test for this used GM motor).

Photos of 1989 suburban GM regulator used. Second photo with yellow circle shows regulator arm where it is bent. If I remember???
