Power Window test times

Hello all,

I know there are a lot of thread on the relay mods.. I thought i would share.

A while ago,, i added relays to bypass the OEM switch but did not upgrade the wire size to the battery.. I used the original pink wire. When i originally did the mod i did not have the time or energy to pull a new power supply.

The results were good but never knew if it would have been better running a 12 gauge wire direct.

Here is the data,

Battery at 12 volts engine not running the voltage drop was to 10.9 rolling up the window.

Times from full down position rolling up to a stop;

engine off pink OEM wire = 5.73 second
engine off 12g straight to bat= 4.29 seconds

Engine running OEM pink =3.90 seconds
Engine running 12g to bat = 3.49 second

Anyhoo,, the oem switch does increase voltage loss. I thought about doing it while i had the door panel off again but for 1/2 second I think i will stick with the pink OEM.

Chris

Not saying to not to pull a new 12 gauge wire if you have it all apart,, but for me the pink will work.. I have a burb so going to all 4 doors is a pain. I guess you could tap a new 12 into the pink system and maybe shorten the run and reduce some loss?
