Re: SPID detectives - figure this one out.

We don't see the full SPID. It's not a Canadian build, is it? Oshawa truck? They may have
contracted to build trucks for the US market, if Flint could not keep up.

Also [V43 Step Bumper] from the Factory? That's unusual, as most were dealer add-ons.

Truck was built in Baltimore ("B" in VIN).

Re: SPID detectives - figure this one out.

I'm stumped. I'd have to infer that there were at least 3 different ways to outfit a truck destined for export.. something like "hey Bill, install the km/hr speedo and no emissions equipment on this one..." But I honestly have no clue - thanks for posting JQ, love these puzzles.

Re: SPID detectives - figure this one out.

Was there any Euro "reassembly" plants for trucks? Going off what I know with first gen Camaro's (I am way more versed in those cars and the build procedure) They would built kits in Norwood and then ship crated cars over to various plants across the Atlantic to lines that would reassemble them and add any local regulation specific stuff. They would usually then get another tag on them for the area. Ive looked at a couple French assembled cars over the years.

Not sure if the trucks were done this way at any point.

Pretty rare built truck too: K20 Cheyenne Super with A/C and bucket seats. It’s got a dealership stamped rear bumper from here in Alabama.

Re: SPID detectives - figure this one out.

OK, here’s the whole label. Something else strange I figured out on the truck - it does not have lock in/out hubs. I thought they all did but, according to the data book, lock outs were “available as an extra cost option”. I’ll get some pics later on, spent the last 2 days prepping and packing for the SETN Nationals!

No.

RPOs get re-used, so it is important to use a reference from the time period in question (not a modern document as shown).

So, any visibility on what that means on the OP's SPID?

No - I'm not doing anything any different.

Seems to be working ok for now.
