Hood cables is there a difference?
I'm in the process of adding an inside hood release to my 77 K10. I have everything except the top plate and cable. I see used cables on Ebay, but some sellers list them fitting 73-80, while other sellers say 73-87, and some are 58 1/2 while others are 59 1/2 in length. Are the cables different between years? Which length will I need for the 1977 K10? Thanks!

Re: Hood cables is there a difference?
The quick answer is all of the sellers are incorrect. You want one for 1977-80 factory hood release.
The cable release was not an option until about 1977 and uses a different latch and length cable than 81-87/91. That said, the cable from the 81+ may still work as long as the distance from the end of the sheath to the release lever ferrule is the same at the latch end. And they likely don't tell you that number.
