'81 Chevrolet Silverado K10 4WD p/u stock wheel stampings decoding

Hey all ... I can't believe my last post here about wheels & tires for my old K10 was 21 years ago ...

Well, it's time to put tires on this truck ... I can get a set of LT 31x10.50R15 KELLY SAFARI TRAX tires ... I can see from my old thread, that others have had no issues with that size on 8" wide wheels on this type of truck ...

I just wanted to revisit the stock wheel sizing identification & suitability with the 31x10.50's ...

I took some pics of the backside of one of my stock wheels & the various stampings found there (4 pics now attached) ...

Hopefully someone here can assist in decoding what I found.

Thank you, FFF

The parts catalog has a good listing of the various wheels and stamped codes that were on them. This page is from the 79-84 catalog. I've seen the codes stamped near the valve stem more often than the inside or back of the rim.

MJN ... thank you for that wonderful resource!

I've briefly studied your parts catalog listing and what I'm seeing on the inside or back of the rim (I've edited my original post to add 4 pics of stampings found on the inner side of my wheel) seems difficult to correlate to the list ... would you expect Canadian assembled / marketed (?) trucks to adhere to this same parts catalog listing?

I will re-examine the outer side of my wheel near the valve stem to see if I missed a / the critical stamping ...

Thanks again MJN for stepping up ... what you provided was exactly the sort of info I was seeking.

Re: '81 Chevrolet Silverado K10 4WD p/u stock wheel stampings decoding

MJN / all ...

This afternoon I re-examined the outer side of my wheels near the valve stems to see if I missed a / the critical stamping ... I would say that I did!

The code 'BW' can clearly be seen on 3 of 5 wheels. Pics (2) attached.

That would correlate with the following line from the parts catalog listing:

'79-82 K1 W/STYLED (PA6) ......... 14050620 AR 103.00 WHEEL, 15 X 8(STAMPED CR,CX,CS,BW)'

Thank again MJN for the parts catalog listing resource.
