Show ready trucks - Paint protection

I intended on vacuuming today, but after six hours rubbing down just the exterior, not a chance. Up down, up down. It's not so easy going on 64, tired thumbs, and a fake hip due an (*)*^ accident. But heck, I'm in for another 20 or so, pretty sure anyway, hmm. Guy I'm meeting up with for the car show is 87, he looks like a healthy 72, we need to bottle that. He drives just a factory 69 Corvette with 427 on a stick

First show since the truck was finished, spent a lot of years on it. I didn't build it for show really, but this one is an annual event located three miles away, the number of and quality of cars is really good, more than a few concours. I know a few guys too, since we were kids.....It's going to be 100F, that's especially hot here, looks like Saturday morning bacon is me.

My water use is real small, won't bore you with the details less everything is hit four times, the last with Ammo hydrate for the paint. I need to polish it next time with something more durable and more better.

I've had good luck with PRO Polymer paint sealant on other vehicles since 1993, but seems there are better options, since the truck is like a second wife anyway. Well, first wife, the other is just a girlfriend. First first wife of 32 years and I split the sheets during the truck's restoration, coincidence?

Any recommendations for polish or wax, won't mess with cheap stuff, did that once on a 72 yellow Chevelle, oh no!!!!. That's how I ended up with the PRO stuff. Most of the body has a clear coat, FWW. Thanks, and post your show ready truck if you care to.

Nice thing about these trucks is you can bring a dog to a show and people still like them. I suppose it makes sense, have you ever known someone who sold their last one and isn't sorry?

Though I have never had anything I would call a show vehicle, have used the Zaino products for years. https://www.zainostore.com/ One application works well for 6+ months on a daily driver. Will apply to my 72 when put into service. It is imported SS paint.

I`ve been using P&S Detailing Products psdetailproducts.com for a while and really like it. Defender Sealant will last up to 6 months, depending on environment and conditions. Puts a rich and slick layer on the paint, really makes the paint look good. Easy to apply, like a detail spray.
I`ve never used a water hose to clean my truck. I`ve used a one or two bucket method, depending on how dirty. I use Absolute Rinseless Wash to wash or maintain it`s appearance. Might take about 20 - 30 minutes tops. I also use the Rag Company Gauntlet 30" x 36" microfiber drying towels, works amazing and fast.

Most of the really good detailing products you`ll have to order online, If you`re looking for something in a pinch, Adam`s Detailing products can be found at Autozone and Oreilly`s.

if looking for durability then Collinite 476S - longest lasting wax I've ever used 9-12mo. If you put it on thin it is WO-WO.

Its not the best for dark paint but probably perfect for your color.

Speak of paint protection, I have German Shepherds for starts, the newest one jumps around like a Tasmanian Devil in there, its weird. Before those my son and friends would lean on it too, so I people/dog proofed it. I just tied the bench and platform that were already there, platform is stronger for it too. Downside is I have to open the garage or climb over the bench, no chance for a gate, available floor space is zero, though now that I'm writing this, I'm selling two benches and building something more practical.

People leaning on your ride. My wife's cousin and husband came from Switzerland, and we took them to Disneyland. Got my '64 Impala convertible which was painted and polished to a high shine parked, and some bimbo gets out of her car and dumps her purse on the decklid! There was all kinds of purse stuff, now on her car. I did it nicely. I was working as a mechanic and some guy parked his car on the lot and set his metal tool chest on the same car's trunk. Pretty sure the dents never came out of that chest, since it wasn't treated as nicely. He also had to push his car off the lot to fix it elsewhere. If the box had been on the ground or his car, I might have even helped.

WOW!, some people. Nice of you to be so nice My son and I took my chevy to In and Out recently, sat inside. I rarely leave my truck, and never without my view on it. I actually parked in the middle of two spaces, which is a good thing, because soon after a drug addict parked still to close for comfort, and THREW his door open, the rat was all ape%(*.....

Three types of people. One doesn't care about theirs, and sure don't care about yours (that guy). One doesn't care about yours, they might be the worst, selfish bastads, though it's a close call. The rest have a brain and are respectful.
