Gas Pedal Tab Thingy....

Hey gang,

Ok, so I need some guidance / advice on the plastic bottom part of the gas pedal. It seems out of place just sitting on top of the carpet. Should I cut a small slit in the carpet to slide the tab into, or just let it sit on top the carpet like it is? I am afraid that cutting the carpet will lead to tearing, but it just looks out of place sitting there like that.

Here is what I am talking about.....

Thanks, Clay

Mine is the same way. New pedal from LMC (several years ago). Looks fine to me.

I think it's that way by design so the bottom of the pedal can slide a bit. I could be wrong though but it looks fine to me.

I'll bet that it's there to cover the studs sticking up. Could be wrong.

I'm probably just over thinking it....I will likely just leave it the way it is. I don't want the carpet to tear or fray or anything. It just seemed out of place when I look at it.
