New windshield has a pucker in the rubber seal.
Looking for ideals or suggestions how to get rid of this pucker in my new windshield. I replaced all the glass in my 1960 stepside.
Windshield was 3 hours with three people and some words that I can't print here. I parked it out in the 90° Sun twice now all day hoping it would stretch or contract after being outside putting it into the air conditioning shop. I'm thinking of using windshield adhesive just wondering how do I press the rubber seal against the window until the ceiling sticks and dries? Does someone have better suggestions? Thank you |

Re: New windshield has a pucker in the rubber seal.
I had the same problem with mine when I first put the windshield in, then I met a glass guy at a carshow that told me to get a Precision Brand seal, and you won't have that problem!... My seal was from LMC, or Brothers, I can't remember. Sure enough, about a year later I got up the nerve to change the seal, and the whole windshield fit in the truck differently. I was totally happy that I took that piece of advise!

I can't remember which side I bought come off of I just threw the receipt away yesterday. It was probably LMC.. I've had a lot of parts coming in lately for the doors, windows and weather seals. Which reminds me I need the door handles to pull the door shut from inside totally forgot about those. Just got the doors back on this weekend for the first time in 3 years |

Slice it, glue down with windshield urethane?
On my 65, the glass guys didn't use any urethane. When they did buddy's 63, they did some in the corners. |

Would two strong magnets - one on the inside and one on the out - work? Otherwise, you might just tape it down while it dries and remove the tape some time later... Good luck!
