Do what I did when I put the Cad 500 in my 71 GMC 2500 Figure out how much clearace you need and where and get the torch and BFH out and bend the edge over and down for clearance rather than cutting. It didn't take much on the 71 but that manifold sticks way out there. You can see it towards the rear just past the chain from the chain hoist.

Thanks for the reply! I went back out last night and did a bit more fiddling with it and it looks like i might get away with cutting 2-3” long by approx 3/8-1/2” deep area off the frame and the tubes would fit. It’s literally one tube thats hitting.

The problem I originally ran across was the numerous posts saying DON’T cut the frame. However, i just cant see how modifying 1/2” off the top lip of the frame would cause issues, even if I were to completely cut that 1/2” piece off. These trucks are real steel, not the cheap China steel in todays cars.

Obviously I’d rather find headers that fit, but unless I get a reply from the OP (@May70) or run across someone who has the wide frame, LS motor, and using this Hooker kit its going to be a guessing game.
