Not a new problem. Been this way since I had my ac put into service.
I just avoid turning it on unless I am on the highway. The truck has no issues with charging with the lights on at idle. I may need to change out cooling fans as the ones in there Ipulled from some dodge suv I bought at pick your parts and they me just be drawing to many amps.
