Orange / red wire

I have the motor out and can’t figure out where this wire goes too . It runs with the green temp sensor wire . I tagged all the other wires but either it came off or I missed it . The yellow goes to the coil .

The switch is laying on the cowl and wires are still hooked up . That was my first thought too

Now it makes sense my truck did have an idle solenoid. I thought it was for the AC guess it was factory . Glad I took pictures

A little OT but since we are here, that yellow wire is a resistor wire for a points system. If you are switching to a HEI, it requires a full 12v and that yellow stainless steel wire needs to be swapped out to the fire wall. or you will kill the HEI electronics The lead on the cab side of firewall is copper and does not need any changes.

Well aware that I can’t use the resister wire with the HEI . Already have the new wire installed.
