Re: Looking for a quiet muffler.

I would look for something like this.

This will fit your needs.

Search for these terms because there may be better deals out there.

links seem blocked on E bay lately.

So here are the search Terms I used. ( New MUFFLER 1975 Chevy & GMC Truck 21" Long, 2-1/2 Inlet, 2" outlet Walker 21912 )

Re: Looking for a quiet muffler.

Ive heard about Walker Mufflers being close to factory quiet. The 2 Flowmaster 40's I have has a horrible roar below 50 mph and been wanting to eliminate the roar.

I put a set of Walker Sound FX on my 1978 C20 with a stock 454 and a full 2-1/4" dual exhaust system. Sounds stock, you can even think in the cab.

Re: Looking for a quiet muffler.

Used these on my dually. Very comfortable tone on a mild OE big block.

* Full length 1.75" x 3" collector headers
* 3" head pipes into a H-pipe
* Dual 3" inlet/outlet offset mufflers
* 3" - 2.5" reducers off of the mufflers (@ the back of the cab) for 2.5" tailpipes to rear bumper/corner exit.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Not a smarta-- answer; whatever the listed factory replacement muffler is from your favorite parts house if you want quiet.
