Re: 60th Anniversary Mustang GT

I feel very fortunate to have been in a position to buy one. It's quite unique in a lot of ways. The Wimbledon White is only available on this 60th annv model (they only come in red, white and blue) along with the Red badging and the 20in wheels. Runs mid 12's in the 1/4 mile stock.
My brother drove mine and had to have one too.
Check this pic out....2 rare horses in one stable.

I am surprised that they was still available by the time he drove yours.
Was it a special order?

Was his # 1964?

Re: 60th Anniversary Mustang GT

There are only 2845 +/- new car Ford dealers in the country so not every dealer got one. Most all were special orders. For some reason the guy that ordered mine backed-out on the deal so I jumped on it. My brother's was ordered as a convertible and came in as a coupe so he lucked out too. My family has connections in the car business so that helped a lot.
There are still some out there for sale but not many. I understand they only made 147 convertibles out of 1965 units but I'm not a ragtop guy.

Re: 60th Anniversary Mustang GT

Not nearly as new as new as your Mustang but we love our 20 Mustang GT 5.0 vert. And that's coming from a died in the wool LS guy.
Rated at 460 HP it also has the 10 speed auto. Fun to play with the different shift settings.
The 5.0 sounds pretty sweet at the 7200 rpm redline.
Had ours out today for at 80? mile cruise with lunch on lake deck bar. Mid 80's today so the cooled seats felt great.

2025 5.0 rated @ 486 hp redline's @ 7500! This is my second Ford (first was a new 76 Pinto ). 12/1 compression! This Coyote is a work of art. Put it in Track mode and hang on. Not for Amateurs. I'm impressed.

Re: 60th Anniversary Mustang GT

I spoke to the previous owner of our 20 Mustang prior to our purchase from a local Ford dealer. He was in line for a "Dark Horse" but was in second place on the list at the local Ford dealership for a Dark Horse. But the guy in first place backed out and he got the Dark Horse. Hence our/his 20 Mustang vert came up on the market. Had 17K miles on it and was mint.
Got more for our used 2014 Mustang GT vert 6 speed on trade than we paid for it in 2018.
