Thanks!
She doesn't do the painting. I should have worded it different. It is a painting she bought without the frame. Most of the pictures in our house are sand paintings . She won't buy one unless it is signed. I have made alot of frames for her. Probably over a dozen.

Great looking Miter cuts.

I have invested in a Shopsmith system.
I hope to get it set up soon.

Thanks but I made the cuts with plastic miter box and a hand saw and used a $3.50 clamp to hold the corners while I nailed them together.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

We switched to a Ram DRW 3500 for towing our 5th Wheel trailer, and it was a real problem reach wise to insert the safety/lock pin, so I decided to rectify it.

I'm short, fat, old, and I like things easy, so I conjured up with my limited brain cells this long-handled hitch pin and a reachable locking/securing system which works quite well I might add. Hitching and Un-Hitching without choice words now.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Nice work.
I have a Pull Rite Super Glide hitch in my 06 Sierra crew cab with shorty bed for our 5th wheel camper. It works great for making sure the corners of the camper don't get into the back of the cab when turning. I don't have to get out and slide the hitch back when making sharp turns, it does it automatically. I've been fairly pleased with it.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I pulled three of door latches out of the doors. One had been hard to turn as of late so I tore them part, cleaned lubricated, and shot some paint on them. Ahhh! Less complaining from the other side of the bed.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

Worked on cleaning up a couple more old lanterns. The big green one is a Coleman 228C made in 1946 and the little guy is a 242B from 1939. The 242B just needs a couple more parts and it will be ready to fire up. Supposed to be winter projects but since it was so hot and humid lately I had to tinker with something.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

I picked up some self-clinging window tint to put on my garage door windows to keep the evening sun off my gauge cluster and dash. I’m not a pro so you don’t get any pictures LOL!

Those sliders are a must for the short beds when challenged with a super sharp turn, ask my buddy who just found out on the corner of his cab.

Re: What did you do today not on your truck...

After being in use for almost 25 years, I had to replace a water heater.
With the new push-on type connectors, it was quick and easy.
The days of the solder and cuss are officially over! (I hope)

Those fittings are nice and I use them too, because I can't solder used copper to save my life, but damn they get expensive...

You talking about "Shark Bite" fittings? I'll use copper pipe and solder 'til I die. Those are nice in an emergency, though.

I always soldered too, but this was late in the evening, I was tired and pi$$ed.
changing the water heater was the last thing I wanted to do...
These are similar to Shark BiteŽ but a different trade name.
They are flexible stainless with the ends already attached.
I used them on the water heater in my shop 5-6 years ago...so far so good.
I do keep an eye on them though.

We used Shark Bite fittings on a water heater in our old house. They are great. There were no leaks or anything. They were still dry after 5+ years, when we sold and moved.

Got some rather bad news yesterday. We are staying in our Missouri house. I went down to the basement, and we have mold issues . Looks like at least half the finished basement is going to need to be demo-ed.
