Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I spent most of the morning washing and waxing my truck. Not bad for a 28 year old paint job.

Installed the CPP adjustable track bar with relocation bracket and shaped to clear the diff cover. Also, replaced rear shocks (Belltech), axle U bolts, and shock mount brackets.

Pictures make it easier than it is . Got it on and noticed I bought 69-72 radiator support bushings so I’m stuck at it just being on loosely till the right ones come . R&R of the front clip on these is pretty easy though

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Transmission lines run I still need to install the temp sending unit manifold that’s why there are two unhooked lines ,radiator and transmission cooler test fit after I was satisfied with the hookups I took them out and put the shroud in and hoses on . took the cooler pictures before I noticed the clamps were in the box so it’s all done . Just a few more things and I’ll be able to start it

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Removed 2" blocks, installed 3" blocks and shims.

Removed old reverse switch on the 465, put a new one in and wired it in correctly. The reverse lights haven't worked since I got the truck.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Well, yesterday. I hosed the big chunks off the truck and took it to a cruise-in. In Simi Valley, the Ventura County Coachmen Car Club holds a car show on the first Saturday of the month, most months. One can look up their calendar online. Member Richard and I live a few miles apart, and met up with other people there. It was well-attended this month, it being the last day for the year. Everything from blown big block Corvettes to lowered '30s Cars. Lots of nice people, with an interest in vehicles.

Amazing how easy these are, compared to those old 4GC Rochesters, what with all those check balls. You turn them over after removing the air horn and all those BBs fell out...and that exploded view was worthless.

On Saturday I pulled the C10 out of summer garage storage, gave her a wash and put over 100 miles on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Ditched the resister wire for the old point distributor. Took it completely out of the harness and ran a new wire . Was a pretty easy job and I was very pleased with the condition of the original wiring not all dry and brittle . Instead of rapping it in friction tape decided to use the wire loom . Much cleaner job still have a few wires I need to clean up . And have to figure out how to put the electric kick down switch on the Holley carb .

I have video of it running but no host site to post it too . Wish we could just upload video directly to the site

The Factory used 1'' non-stick vinyl tape wrap. I got a couple rolls at either Eastwood, or Ron Francis Wire Works.
